Teaching

I have unfortunately not yet had the opportunity to get much teaching experience and have yet to conduct and be responsible for any lecture based courses.

However, I like to teach and hope soon to gain more experience in this area.

I would be especially gratifying for me to teach specialised classes such as animal behaviour, invertrate neuro-ethohology, arachnology and comparative biomechanics and biomimetics, but would also be interested in teaching more general introductory classes such as zoology, biodiversity, insect biology and tropical biology.

Besides formal teaching, I have also enjoyed giving one-to-one tuition to secondary and university students and I am involved with the Danish tuition website, Tutoren.dk,which establishes contact between students and tutors.

I have responsible for finding teaching material and grading the following courses

Hertford College. University of Oxford (2009).
Tutor in Comparative Animal Behaviour in the Michaelmas Term.

I have assisted in teaching the following university courses

Department of Biology and Biochemistry. University of Bath (2003-2005).
Laboratory demonstrator in the second year course Insect Biology
Laboratory demonstrator in first year courses Biodiversity I and II

Institute of Biology. University of Aarhus (1999, 2001-2002).
Student teacher in the second year course System Ecology
Instructor at the first year field course in Zoology.
