Today, I was interviewed, together with two other Danish biomimetics researchers, about the potential of biomimetics (and the problems, especially in terms of a rather disappointing lack of biomimetics products) as well as on the current status of developing artificial spider silk (where the main problem is that we cannot get the same material properties of the real silk due to not being able to imitate the complex internal processes in the spiders when the silk goes from a liquid to a solid).

The article can be read here (but in Danish and behind a paywall).
